after my own personal experience with a kitty who is slowly recovering from smoke inhalation and finding out that if she had received oxygen immediately, her recovery would have been that much quicker, I am all for setting up a donation drive in my neighborhood to get pet masks for our local fire station. maybe you can donate a set to your local fire station too?
the post which I found this quote is located towards the bottom of the page under “Feral cats - more socialization tips”
Fascinating! So of course I had to do some more research, and below are just a sample of what I found:
"The genes on the cat chromosome and the human chromosome correspond to each other like two strings of beads made of different colors," said Dr. Stephen J. O’Brien, chief of the Laboratory of Genomic Diversity of the National Cancer Institute, adding that cats have "the same genes, one after another, strung together across every chromosome." from http://www.nytimes.com/2005/02/15/science/15cats.html

I am raising funds for my neighbor’s kitten who is suffering from smoke inhalation in yestedays fire (their home was destroyed). Raised $150 so far. If you can donate anything at all no matter how small, please send me a message and let me know how much you can give. I am trying to raise at least $500. Thank you!
